I had found what I believed to be the parents of my great grandfather William Gilmour McCann. I knew their names, occupations and approximate dates of birth from the marriage and death certificates of William McCann and Eliza McConnell.

Killinchy Presbyterian Church
The records for Killinchy Presbyterian Church are held by the North of Ireland Family History Society. One of their volunteers searched the church records and found the marriage of Robert McCann and Mary Gilmour at Killinchy Presbyterian Church on 16 August 1838. They also found a baptismal record for William Gilmour McCann on 11 August 1839 with Robert McCann as his father.
